A real family day

Kal woke this morning not feeling the best and was soon in the bathroom vomiting. The thought of "not this again" crossed my mind because he'd been doing so well.I'd been keeping the anti-nausia tablets up to him, even setting my alarm for every 4hrs through the night,to give him the best chance of keeping the sickness at bay.I explained to him that it could be the fact that he hasn't eaten for days.He told me that sometimes he feels like something but he's too scared to eat because it might make him sick.He picked up soon enough and ended up having a very enjoyable day.Karina was the first to arrive which went a long way to improving his condition and was soon followed by Poppy and for the first time his cousins Tegan and Hayden came down with Poppy.Hot on the heels of their arrival was Aunty Allison,Uncle Will and kids who only arrived back in the country within the last 48hrs.Kallan enjoyed having everyone around enormously and despite not having any of the bbq that was cooked for lunch he did at least have some small snacks throughout the day.

On a sad note my mum left to go back home today.Although i know she enjoys coming down here it must still be hard because there's still other family and nieces and nephews at home she misses. On the other hand i'm really gonna cherish some time with just Karina,Kal and I.If only my little Shaylie could come down aswell,I miss her so much and talking to her on the phone just doesn't cut it.But i'm sure she's having plenty of fun whatever she might get up to which is the most important thing i guess.Weather permitting we are going to parramatta park tomorrow for some Australia Day activities which i've heard should be a pretty big day.

Well I find myself back home again - part of me extremly happy to be here, but part of me wishes I could still be back there with you. I know how important it is for you to have time together as a family, and God knows you haven't had enough of that for some time. But you know I will always be ready to go back whenever I'm needed.

Tegan and Hayden really enjoyed their day with you Kal, and wasn't it so good to see Aunty Al, Uncle Will and the kids. It seems like such a long time since we have all seen them. Welcome home.

I hope you have a great Australia day at the park today, at least the wheather looks like it might be a lot better for you. I just hope it doesn't rain.

I have only just had a chance to get onto the blog and have a look at the past entries - you are a crack up sometimes Dash. I'm sure thats the Egar comming out in you. Just an observation - there hasn't been a shortage of ice at Starbucks since that traumatic day, so perhaps your threat of taking it all the way to the top has worked, who knows!

I'm missing you already, it is so easy to get involved with the lives of all the other families, there is so much to learn from and so much for which to be grateful.

As always, lots and lots of love
Nanny Carol.
